The Pavillon Sicli is a cultural space housed within a 1960’s architectural gem in the historic Sicli industrial complex. Renovated to meet contemporary needs while preserving its industrial heritage, the pavilion serves as a versatile venue for a wide array of cultural events. From conferences to dance performances and exhibitions, the programming revolves around themes deeply rooted in architecture and urbanism.
PLAZA ON TOUR sets up at Pavillon Sicli, offering films that encourage a collective rethinking of architecture. Following Art Genève, the Plaza’s mobile cinema showcases films on architecture that challenge the myth of the solitary architect, emphasizing collaboration and shared knowledge instead. The initiative, developed by BUREAU, draws inspiration from the industrial buildings of Marc J. Saugey in America.
The “My Ideal Neighborhood” workshop invites children to build their own cabin and envision a community neighborhood. Starting with a visit to the Pavillon Sicli to learn about the area’s history, the children then engage in an interactive workshop where they draw and construct their dream cabin using various materials. This activity encourages exploration of architecture, public space, and teamwork. Guided by an animation team, the event concludes with a snack.

Martin Rauch champions the use of raw earth in contemporary architecture as a response to climate challenges and dwindling resources. Trained as a ceramist, he was deeply influenced by local techniques he encountered in Africa. As the founder of Lehm Ton Erde, he has refined the technique of rammed earth and specializes in prefabricating large raw earth elements. His projects blend traditional craftsmanship with technical innovation. An acclaimed award winner, he also teaches at the University of Linz and ETH Zurich.
