Since 1975, La Librairie du Boulevard in Plainpalais has operated as a cooperative bookstore renowned for its humanities-focused selection, including fiction, children’s literature, and works from independent and local publishers. The bookstore regularly organizes author events, discussions, and readings, creating a space for exchange and engagement within the community.
Elliot Guy, director of the NGO SOS Méditerranée‑Suisse, appears here in conversation with author Magali Bossi. He represents the organisation’s humanitarian work on Mediterranean sea rescue.
They will discuss the formative books and readings that shaped Guy’s engagement with migration issues, examine the challenges and ethical questions of maritime rescue, and outline SOS Méditerranée’s day‑to‑day actions and advocacy. The session explores wider themes of solidarity, policy responses and the human stakes of Mediterranean migration.

Pierre Tevanian, philosopher, essayist and activist, presents his new book published by éditions Divergences. Drawing on philosophical argument and political engagement, he reclaims the stigma attached to ‘wokism’ and proposes a constructive reading: if wokism does not exist as a unified movement, it must be invented. Tevanian examines how claims for social justice shape public debate and invites affirmative strategies.
The discussion will be moderated by Valérie Opériol, lecturer at the University of Geneva, and will investigate questions of identity, political language and collective mobilisation.
