Sabrina Fernández Casas and Giona Bierens de Haan present a multidisciplinary performance as part of PAV Living Room and the Electron Festival. Drawing inspiration from Calvino’s “Invisible Cities,” the performance weaves together video, sound, and live tableaus to transform the Carrefour de l’Étoile into both utopian and dystopian visions. Employing low-tech techniques like mirrors, smoke, and transparency effects, they explore fresh perceptions of the urban environment. Their collaboration merges interests in video, performance, and poetry, creating an experimental experience that questions and reshapes the cityscape.
“The Parliament of the Night,” crafted by OF/CMMN and the Grand Conseil de la Nuit, unfolds within the PAV Living Room and the Festival Electron. This distinctive event champions the night as an essential cultural and vital aspect of a dynamic cityscape within the transforming PAV area.
This temporary installation will serve as a venue for dialogue, sharing, and celebration to spotlight the significance of nighttime. The event unfolds in three parts: a parliament for discussing nighttime issues, an aperitif to encourage informal meetings, and DJ sets to celebrate the night through music and dance. The goal is to make the night visible, audible, and enduring, underscoring its value in urban life.
