ILAB-design is a contemporary art gallery in Geneva dedicated to African art and design. It presents curated exhibitions, solo and group shows, and hosts events, workshops and collaborations that support emerging and established artists. Founded by local curators, the gallery fosters cross-cultural dialogue and visibility for contemporary African creative practices.
Inspired by the literary world of Leonora Miano, this series of paintings portrays a fictional people embodying a utopian vision of Pan-Africanism. Through richly imagined figures and narratives, Ismaël Touré explores identity as plural, fluid, and deeply rooted in a shared collective memory.
