As of 16 May 2025, the Centre de la photographie Genève (CPG) is temporarily hosted by the Bibliothèque de Genève at the Espace Ami-Lullin, during the renovation of the Contemporary Art Building (BAC).
With an annual program featuring 4 to 6 exhibitions, alongside the publication of 2 to 3 books, the center actively pioneers innovative approaches to photography’s integration with other arts.
Swiss artist Augustin Rebetez presents Tomorrow Never, a photographic survey of Russia produced between 2018 and 2023 across the Urals, Siberia, Yakutia and the Far East. Combining documentary portraiture and staged tableaux, the images map youthful counter‑cultures and provincial life under increasing isolation. Through collaborations and shared networks the work traces creative resilience amid harsh winters, vast distances and political contraction. Presented as a slideshow with live musical accompaniment by REA, the project builds a fragile bridge between East and West.
The editorial team of Transbordeur joins scholars from European universities, including Estelle Blaschke (University of Basel), Max Bonhomme (Université de Strasbourg) and Claire‑Lise Debluë (University of Lausanne), to reflect on a decade of editorial work.
This session examines the journal’s retrospective and presents the anniversary issue ‘Money: Photography, resources, labour, currency,’ exploring how photographic scholarship addresses material, economic and institutional dimensions of the medium, labour relations, and the circulation of images in contemporary economies and cultural practices.
