The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum preserves and shares the heritage of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. At its heart is a central question: How does humanitarian action concern us all, here and now?
To explore this question, artists, cultural partners and researchers are invited to reflect on the issues, values and current relevance of humanitarian action. The Museum is a place of memory, creativity and debate. Its collections include 30,000 objects, among them the first Nobel Peace Prize medal, as well as archives inscribed on UNESCO’s Memory of the World Register.
In 2026, the Museum is embarking on a new chapter, developing a sustainable permanent exhibition that evolves in dialogue with its audiences. Humanitarian Action, Here and Now will gradually take shape, reaching completion in 2028—a landmark year for the Museum, as it celebrates its 40th anniversary and the bicentenary of Henry Dunant’s birth.
