Transparences, saison III, Dreams

Artists Ana D and Noora K present a dreamlike photographic project probing transparency, memory and perception. Through layered photographs, lenticular prints and sculptural extensions of the image, the duo uses superposition, diffusion and formal alteration to reveal overlapping temporalities and interior images.
The works deploy spatial configurations where fragments of lived experience shift, associate and recombine, positioning photography as a territory of projection and transformation. Curated by Myriam Bongard‑Stadler, Dreams navigates the border between sleep and wakefulness.

An expanded presentation of works from the Geneva School and the Lake Geneva region brings together paintings and drawings by Ferdinand Hodler, François Bocion, John Torcapel, Alexandre Perrier, Félix Vallotton, Alexandre Cingria and Jean Roll. The display traces regional artistic dialogues across centuries, from academic realism to symbolist and modernist approaches, highlighting technique, compositional daring and materiality. The collection has grown through acquisitions and generous donations, and includes a very rare painting executed in Geneva before 1650, now shown to the public.

Hydromondes, a multidisciplinary collective, presents a two‑year field investigation into Lake Geneva through visual and narrative works. Combining art, science and activism, the group brings together architecture, theatre, hydrology, popular education, landscape design, biology, music, ethnography and engineering to produce mixed-media, research-driven installations and documentary narratives. Drawing on dialogues with local residents and ecological knowledge, the works examine water infrastructures, cultural imaginaries and governance, proposing experiments that reveal and question our relationships with the lake.

27 August – 15 November

Jean-Marc Yersin and Antoine Roth present two photographic projects that probe urban and natural perception.

In Cités délaissées, Yersin composes futuristic images of deserted cities where digital dematerialization, climate strain and demographic decline have hollowed out public life; the photographs evoke frozen infrastructures and virtual withdrawal. Mirages sees Roth using a long-focus digital camera along the shores of Lake Geneva to capture rare atmospheric and optical phenomena—mirages, light and reflections—questioning the materiality of landscape and how perception shapes experience.

Opening: Thursday 27 August, 18:00

16 July – 13 October

Artists Daniel Dewar and Grégory Gicquel present a large-scale installation conceived as a traversable architecture that reconfigures the museum courtyard into a mutable living environment. Seven works dialog with sculpture, and two pieces were created specifically to engage the lapidary collection and the Pierre-aux-Dames megalith. Using carved stone surfaces, constructed siphons and modular plaster and resin elements, the project explores material metamorphosis, bodily presence and the shifting relations between monumentality and domestic scale.

Opening: Thursday 16 July, 18:30

16 – 20 September
