To mark its 30th anniversary, Zébra Lab invites Marseille-based Labo l’Argent for a programme devoted to analogue cinema under the theme “Making cinema differently”. The screening programme gathers short and feature works by Jacques Sorrentini Zibjan, Laurent Reyes, Jérémy Saint-Peyre and Laura Gabay, celebrating tactile film processes, optical sound and transfer practices. Each projection is followed by a conversation reflecting on craft, inter-lab solidarity and the preservation of endangered analog techniques.

Eyal Sivan’s Route 181, second instalment ‘Centre’, follows a journey from Lod to Jerusalem across neighborhoods facing demolition, ruined villages, military courts and checkpoints. Through intimate encounters and archival reflection, the film confronts memories of expulsion, migratory narratives and the daily reality of occupation. Shot with documentary rigour and a poetic, investigative gaze, it weaves personal testimony and historical inquiry into a lucid, emotionally charged portrait of contested belonging and memory. The screening presents short works by Éloi Calame, Jacques Sorrentini Zibjan, Balthazar Wyss, Malou Six and Anouk Moyaux, from Super‑8 and 16mm experiments to 2K transfers. The selection highlights tactile film processes, collaborative craft and the fragile transmission of analogue techniques, evoking memory, materiality and shared cinematic gestures.

The cycle pairs experimental shorts and a feature-length 16mm work, foregrounding tactile film stocks, hand-processed textures and transfer aesthetics. Featuring Lévana Schütz’s Umbrele vorbesc and Léa Lanoë’s Frieda TV (with Janett Gröger), the programme explores memory, materiality and collective care. Each screening is followed by a conversation with the filmmakers.
