Too Many Books in the Street

A contemporary publishing space presents a concentrated selection of artist books, fanzines and posters exhibited alongside curated holdings from its library. The presentation focuses on the material and graphic languages of small‑press production: experimental typography, hand-assembled multiples, risography and letterpress techniques. Works map networks of collaboration, DIY distribution and archival strategies, inviting close reading of visual narratives and the book as an object and medium within contemporary artistic practice.

Diego Cibelli presents an exhibition that considers notions of futurity and personal trajectory. The works deploy found materials, layered imagery and subtle spatial interventions to create a provisional narrative space where biography, material traces and collective histories converge.

7 May – 20 June

MABE Gallery presents Forza Silenziosa, the second solo exhibition of Sofia Cacciapaglia, whose paintings evoke a quiet, fluid world where forms, bodies, and landscapes gently merge, expressing a soft yet powerful feminine presence rooted in emotion, connection, and subtle energy.

Her work emphasizes transformation, intimacy, and dreamlike atmospheres, where silence carries intensity. Using reclaimed cardboard from her Milan neighborhood, she connects to the ethos of Arte Povera—a movement theorized by Germano Celant and associated with artists like Michelangelo Pistoletto and Jannis Kounellis—by embracing ‘poor’ materials and their histories; however, she diverges through her distinctly figurative and painterly approach, transforming humble surfaces into poetic images that bridge material awareness with narrative, imagination, and contemporary femininity.

The International Museum of the Red Cross and Red Crescent presents the first European solo exhibition of Guatemalan Maya Kaqchikel artist Angélica Serech (*1982). Pach’un Q’ijul (Temps entrelacés – Deep Time) intertwines ancestral weaving gestures with personal and collective memory, drawing on Serech’s history shaped by Guatemala’s civil war. Using self-built looms and natural materials like corn husks and branches, her works explore resilience, repair, and the deep ties between textile traditions and humanitarian action.

21 May – 21 June

Curators Ghalas Charara and Rita Elhajj present a first collaborative exhibition that scrutinizes the collection through a shared, probing gaze. The presentation assembles works from the collection alongside archival materials and curatorial interventions, foregrounding fragments, indexes and ruptures.
It interrogates the ruinous logics of archives, the anxieties encoded in preservation, and the ways memory is displaced or exiled. The show stages dialogues between history, material traces and acts of remembrance.
