We caught up with Alain Werner, Swiss human rights lawyer and founder of Civitas Maxima, an international network of lawyers and investigators based in Geneva supporting victims of mass crimes in their pursuit of justice. Over a quick coffee, he shares a few personal Geneva favourites—from an espresso stop where you can read The New York Times and Le Monde, to the iconic Poubelle de Genève chocolates, and the work of Geneva-born artist JP Kalonji, whom he considers one of the city’s best.
