Mirages & Miracles

Adrien Mondot and Claire Bardainne present an interactive exhibition that blends visual and performing arts, placing the body at the heart of image-making. Combining handcrafted objects with digital devices, the duo uses augmented reality and holography to propose a form of digital animism: apparently motionless stones and objects reveal hidden life through poetic scenarios. The series ‘Le Silence des pierres’ pays homage to the agency and intimacy of life lodged in inert matter.

Niels Hung, a graduate of HEAD–Genève, investigates his multicultural identity through painting shaped by American and Asian visual cultures. His works—repainted canvases and mixed-format paintings—often reappropriate images found online and in the street, interrogating contemporary image production and its slipperiness. Employing layered pictorial strategies and referential iconography, Hung stages a critical dialogue that oscillates between fascination and critique. He also joined the Work.Master teaching team in 2024 and engages with questions of artistic production and the artist’s condition.

11 – 22 February

Véronique Déthiollaz and Guy Schibler present a dialogue between drawing and photography that confronts mortality through laughter, desire and celebration. Déthiollaz’s graphite, occasional pastel and ink drawings deploy ironic, grotesque figuration—mocking skeletons and humbled reapers—while Schibler’s photographic series documents funerary sculpture and cemetery vistas that reveal provocative sensuality. Together the works probe how humour, eroticism and festivity resist oblivion, refusing pain through visual excess and theatricality, and interrogate cultural attitudes toward death, embodiment and memory.

22 January – 9 May

This exhibition pays tribute to Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarri, a seminal figure of Australian Aboriginal art and a pioneer of the Western Desert painting movement. Drawing on Dreaming stories and the ancestral landscapes of his Anmatyerre heritage, Possum translated traditional sand and body painting motifs into monumental canvases that intertwine myth, geography and memory. His richly patterned, large-scale works balance Indigenous cosmology with a striking sense of modern abstraction, affirming his lasting influence on global contemporary art.

Opening during the Nuit des Bains, Thursday 22 January, from 18:00.

29 October 2025 – 31 May 2026

Pleasing the Spirits invites you on a journey through the Barbier-Mueller Collection, showcasing artworks from around the globe. Curated by Séverine Fromaigeat and Paul Maheke, the exhibition offers an open-ended exploration of diverse objects, awakening spirits and uncovering territories to discover.

5 – 26 February

Matthias Lecoq investigates the contemporary city as a milieu of existence, probing how urban forms shape subjectivity and appearance. The exhibition centers on abstract paintings that translate urban forces—density, thresholds, fields, circulations, exhaustion and momentum—while photographs anchor the work in everyday situations. Diagrams, cosmologies and textual fragments act as thinking-tools rather than explanations. Through a study of grammars, rhythms and tensions, Lecoq’s practice reveals the conditions that make collective and individual emergence possible within urban life.

17 April 2025 – 17 April 2026

The exhibition invites you on a journey through anatomical models, casts, waxworks, and illustrated antique books. Modern tools like microscopy, medical imaging, and 3D printing uncover the inner workings of organs, currently utilized by medical students at the University of Geneva. This is a collaboration with the University of Geneva. Some images may not be suitable for younger or sensitive audiences.
