Swiss artist Pierre Schwerzmann (b. 1947, Aubonne) creates paintings that captivate through the vibrating interplay of color and surface. His smooth, seemingly stable canvases generate both fascination and unease, drawing and deflecting the viewer’s gaze in continuous motion. For Schwerzmann, painting is an act of thought in movement — a physical and mental experience that engages both body and mind.

The exhibition Choses que l’on garde (“Things we keep”) showcases works from the City of Lancy’s art collection in conversation with elements from Jérémie Gindre’s work, forming fresh ideas and connections. The pieces, which include paintings, drawings, photographs, objects, and sculptures, are organized into themed sections within Villa Bernasconi. In conjunction, Anaïs Wenger offers walking tours that juxtapose Lancy landscape paintings with their contemporary surroundings.
The Musée de Carouge showcases the city’s century-long relationship with cinema, highlighting iconic locations, pioneering figures like Alice Guy, local film productions, and the enduring Cinéma Bio, offering a vivid look at how Carouge has shaped and been shaped by the seventh art.
The exhibition is complemented by a diverse program of screenings, concerts, and workshops, allowing visitors to experience iconic films, explore Alice Guy’s world through music, and experiment with early animation techniques for a fully immersive journey into Carouge’s cinematic history and practice.

Join the opening of Mammoth steps. One for Kevin, two for Lisa by Chris Lovasoa Kauffmann, co-produced with the Swiss Cultural Center in Paris and Béa Foundation for Young Artists. Two additional exhibitions, L’Argent Comme Seul Lien by Manuela Morales Délano and CORRENTES by Nina Wolf, will also debut at Les Halles de l’Ile. Convergent Lines at Galerie L’Appartement showcases a dynamic blend of expressive canvases by Mariana Oushiro alongside pieces by Jojo Corväiá, Maarten Vrolijk, and Marius Ritiu. This exhibition delves into the crossroads of art, sculpture, and design, emphasizing the role of materials, processes, and architectural influences. The ASL is marking its 45th anniversary with the immersive exhibition “Léman, l’éveil d’un peuple” (Léman, the Awakening of a People). This exhibition chronicles the fierce battle to rescue Lake Geneva from suffocation between the 1960s and 2000, driven by the collective efforts of associations, scientists, fishermen, journalists, and institutions. It offers a journey filled with documents and personal accounts, reminding visitors of the power of individual action in protecting the lake. The event features a variety of activities suitable for all ages, including fun missions for children, conferences, and guided tours. It also highlights the lake’s current challenges and encourages active engagement in its preservation.
