La Nuit des Bains

La Nuit des Bains is a vibrant cultural evening in Geneva, celebrating contemporary art through the simultaneous openings of galleries in the Quartier des Bains. Organized by the Contemporary Art Association of the Quartier des Bains, the event is free and open to the public, inviting visitors to explore new exhibitions and engage directly with artists over drinks.

The Alexei Jaccard Mural serves as a space for remembrance and contemplation on human rights and enforced disappearances. The inaugural exhibition, “Residual Images of Forced Disappearance,” delves into this theme with photographic works that highlight the fragility of memory while exposing absence and emptiness. These paradoxical and poetic images transform into areas of resistance against violence.

The exhibition “L’avantage du terrain” by Jan Voss at the Sonia Zannettacci gallery showcases the artist’s creative freedom through vibrant paintings and collages. Undulating shapes, intertwined lines, and assorted objects engage in an energetic and poetic dialogue, providing a unique visual experience where each element interacts in joyful harmony.

Opening during the Art en Vieille-Ville collective vernissage on Thursday, November 6, from 16:00 to 21:00.

5 November – 20 December

Xippas Gallery in Geneva is hosting, for the first time, a solo exhibition dedicated to the Uruguayan artist José Gamarra. The anthological exhibition, Whispers in the Forest, spans fifty years of his work and presents an exceptional selection of paintings and drawings, curated by Manuel Neves

17 September – 7 March

In Soft Gravity, Domum delves into the materiality and sensuality of forms through a multitude of contemporary voices in design and creation. Imagined as a sensitive constellation, the exhibition showcases suspended, fleshy, and sculptural shapes that intertwine. It invites visitors to an experience that balances between fragility and strength, memory and presence.

6 November – 13 December

Opera Gallery showcases iconic works by modern, post-war, and contemporary artists, featuring names like Chagall, Picasso, Niki de Saint-Phalle, and Pierre Soulages. During this 37th edition of Art en Vieille-Ville, visitors can explore pieces by artists such as Sam Francis, Fernand Léger, Jean Dubuffet, Manolo Valdés, Georges Condo, among others.

Opening during the Art en Vieille-Ville collective vernissage on Thursday, November 6, from 16:00 to 21:00.

13 November – 20 December

The solo exhibition Ecce Femina by Philippe Reymondin is on view this fall at the andata.ritorno gallery. The artist characterizes his work as an inspired journey, with no specific justification guiding his artistic choices.
