Music and Environmental Sustainability

Join a conversation within the temporary exhibition on music and sustainability. This discussion will tackle the environmental impact of musical practices from the perspectives of both listeners and artists, exploring ways to produce and consume music sustainably. We will also contemplate how we might experience music in the year 2080. This event is part of a monthly series that addresses environmental issues through the unique lens of the MEG.

Spend a day at the museum dedicated to contemplating and responding to the climate crisis. The MEG offers a range of activities focused on how our daily actions affect the environment, in collaboration with experts and artists. The program features instrument-making workshops, discussions on the sustainability of music, an environmentally-themed reading area, and a film screening.

The mini reading club invites families to unwind and connect through stories, adventures, and discoveries. Each session features engaging tales followed by exciting activities.  Sessions last 1.5 hours.

Thursday 5 June, 12:30

Every first Thursday of the month, the MAH hosts pop-up graphic arts exhibitions at GamMAH. From 12:30 to 3:30 PM, visitors can explore hidden gems from the graphic art collection, including prints, drawings, and rare books, guided by an art historian. This month’s presentation highlights works by Russian avant-garde artists, featuring Alexandra Exter, Natalia Goncharova, Liubov Popova, Olga Rozanova, and Varvara Stepanova, celebrating their remarkable contributions leading up to the 1917 Revolution.

The Pavillon Sicli Foundation is hosting architect Maria Sommer (Dorte Mandrup Studio). Established in 1999 in Copenhagen, this agency is renowned for its innovative architectural approach that is mindful of ecosystems, ensuring its buildings blend seamlessly into their surroundings. With a team of about 80 employees, the firm has completed remarkable projects like the Wadden Sea Centre and the Icefjord Center, and is currently working on the Museum of Exile in Berlin. Dorte Mandrup has been recognized by the Swedish-Danish Cultural Foundation for her impact on Scandinavian architecture.
