Fabrication d’un thaumatrope

 

Discover the magic of optical illusions by creating your own thaumatrope—a 19th-century toy that blends two images into one when spun rapidly. This hands-on workshop invites children to craft and decorate their own spinning discs, bringing to life charming animations like a bird in a cage or flowers in a vase. A playful introduction to the science of vision and early animation.

8 – 10 May

Immerse yourself in the musical and dance traditions of Romania with “Romanian and Gypsy Flavors,” a deeply emotive event celebrating the legacy of Romanian musical ensembles. Paying tribute to ethnomusicologist Speranța Rădulescu, the event features concerts, educational workshops, photo exhibitions, and a dinner dance. Experience live performances by Taraf de Teleorman and Group Iza and take part in workshops led by renowned artists for a complete cultural immersion into Romanian and Gypsy traditions.

8 and 9 May

The Country Festival in Lancy, following the tradition of the Country events in Marignac and Lancy Tennessee, returns for its second edition in the center of Petit-Lancy. The festival features two nights of live music under a big tent with performances by Paul Mac Bonvin and New Country Rain. Attendees can also enjoy a variety of food stalls and vendors offering a range of items.

Thursday 8 May, 19:00

Experience a unique evening at the Temple de la Madeleine featuring an extraordinary DJ set by the legendary Robert Hood. Ordained as a priest in 2009, Hood has been blending spirituality with techno music for several years. The event will kick off with a gospel ensemble, followed by the talented Lausanne-based DJ Eva May, before Robert Hood takes over for a memorable two-hour set.
