The Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, conducted by Jonathan Nott, welcomes cellist Nadège Rochat to perform works by Marie Jaëll and Igor Stravinsky. “Perchée” tells the story of a young woman who decides to live in the trees, inspired by the rebellious spirit of her ancestor, the baron in the treetops. She shares her tree-dwelling adventures interwoven with her personal journey, prompting a reevaluation of our connections with others and nature. Directed by Mathias Brossard, this play humorously adapts Italo Calvino’s novel to explore environmental issues and political ecology.

“Échec Mycose” is a creation by Compagnie Pluton. Alice and Ulysse, a queer duo from rural Switzerland, present a musical inspired by the exclusion of trans women from international women’s chess competitions and Léa Rivière’s poem “Je suis pas trans dans la forêt.” On stage, they explore stories of transitions, whether they be spatial-temporal, chemical, generational, or gender, with a DIY touch. The company aims to provide positive representations of queer paths in a countryside setting, challenging cis-heteropatriarchal norms.
