PourquoooOAA | Youth Theatre

Plouf and Splatsch are two inquisitive characters, a frog and a bee, or rather a combination of the two called “greneille” or “abouille”. Through this performance, they aim to answer life’s big and small questions using various objects like stones, soil, and bubbles, while having fun and experiencing a range of emotions. Written and directed by Aude Bourrier, featuring Carole Schafroth in design and performance, with music by Pierre Vonnet. Co-produced by the Théâtre de l’Orangerie and photographed by Bertrand Dorat.

La Cour des Contes is a captivating oral literature festival that has enchanted the town of Plan-les-Ouates for nearly 30 years, becoming a key event in the French-speaking world. Blending ancient myths with modern issues, the festival offers a rich and diverse program.

While family-friendly tales delight young audiences, the teen/adult program invites reflection and exploration. Highlights include Philippe Imbert’s clever take on princess stereotypes, Jennifer Anderson’s journey through the polar night and Indigenous climate concerns, and Pascal Mitsuru Guéran’s dive into Japan’s mysterious voluntary disappearances in Les évaporés du Japon. With over 50 performances, there’s much more to discover.

The Théâtre du Loup offers a fresh take on “Krazy Kat,” directed by Eric Jeanmonod, to celebrate the final season of the company’s founders. This theatrical adaptation, inspired by George Herriman’s renowned comic strip, explores the intriguing love triangle between a cat infatuated with a mouse, a dog smitten with the cat, and a mouse that relishes throwing bricks. Blending poetry and irony, the production gathers a talented cast for a touching and nostalgic experience.

“Dachenka the Puppy” is a workshop-show designed for children. Inspired by the bestselling Czech children’s book by Karel Čapek, it tells the story of a puppy found in a basket. Performed by an opera singer and a pianist, the show takes place in the enchanting setting of the Grand Foyer of the GTG.
