In celebration of the centenary of Félix Vallotton’s passing, the Museum of Art and History is offering a unique literary tour. Journalist Céline Argento and Daniel Maggetti, director of the Center for Literatures in French-speaking Switzerland, explore the literary side of the artist through the publication “Félix Vallotton, Novels and Theater.” This work sheds light on Vallotton’s talents as a writer, showcasing his contributions to art criticism, novel writing, and theater.
The GPHG exhibition showcases 90 timepieces shortlisted by the Academy, accompanied by creations from students of watch design and interior architecture at HEAD – Geneva. Visitors can enjoy guided tours led by a watchmaking expert and participate in introductory watchmaking workshops. Children can engage in activities such as engraving and constructing sundials. Additionally, the Fondation de la Haute Horlogerie offers a lecture on iconic watches.
Alongside the show SPECIMEN at Théâtre Am Stram Gram, Gwendoline Soublin will host a creative writing workshop at the Maison Rousseau et Littérature. This workshop, infused with ecological and dreamlike elements, delves into a time-travel journey of a supermarket employee from the fish and seafood section, spanning from prehistory to the present.

Jean-Luc Hervé presents “Sombre / Topos – Musical Salon with a Population of Sound Animals” in collaboration with Utopiana and the University of Geneva. This innovative project features sound broadcasts, performances, and a seminar. Hervé explores the interplay between music and the environment by positioning sound sources throughout a house, crafting a natural polyphony that mimics animal populations. The performances, woven into this soundscape, gradually evolve and separate, forming an independent “sound population” that remains even after the performers have exited.
This writing workshop, led by the renowned Gaëlle Josse, offers participants a chance to hone their craft in two phases. First, they will delve into a significant location, whether familiar or new, to uncover its dynamics and emotions. Then, they will celebrate their everyday life by exploring the details and richness of their routines and familiar surroundings. Each session is designed to capture and elevate the essence of our daily experiences.

The 2025 Human Rights Week, organized by the Global Studies Institute at the University of Geneva, focuses on defending the rule of law through a diverse and thought-provoking program. Bridging law, political science, and history, the initiative explores contemporary challenges to the rule of law, including the concentration of executive power, weakening of checks and balances, and questions over the legitimacy of constitutional and supranational courts.
With the participation of students and institutional partners, the week offers around twenty events that invite reflection, debate, and action on legal, institutional, and civic tools to preserve and strengthen the rule of law at both national and European levels.
