The OCG Morning Sessions

This collaboration between the Geneva Chamber Orchestra and the Commune of Chêne-Bougeries offers educational concerts for everyone, including families and children. A cello quartet will engage with the audience to foster an appreciation for music in a friendly setting. The concert will be followed by a brunch.

16 & 17 May

The Geneva Blues Festival is back for its second edition, hosted by the Blues Association Geneva. This event will showcase both local and international talent at the Alhambra. On Friday, the Geneva Blues Band will kick off the evening, followed by the virtuoso guitarist Henrik Freischlader. Brazilian comedian Whindersson Nunes returns to Geneva with his latest show, Isso Definitivamente Não é um Culto (“This Is Definitely Not a Cult”). Known for his unique blend of humor and introspection, Nunes offers a performance that delves into themes like the end of the world, personal struggles, and the human condition, all delivered with his signature comedic flair. This show marks a continuation of his exploration of life’s complexities through laughter.

The play “Les cinq roses de Jennifer” explores the solitude and struggle of an individual against dominant discourse. It tells the story of Jennifer, a romantically inclined femminiello, who awaits the eagerly anticipated call from Franco after an unforgettable night together. Each day, she dedicates a song to him while living under the threat of a serial killer targeting transvestites in her 1980s Naples neighborhood. Though seemingly light-hearted, the play powerfully portrays the outsider’s condition and the despair of hiding in order to be accepted. Translated and directed by Daniela Morina Pelaggi, the production is supported by a talented artistic and technical team, and it marks its world premiere in French under the banner of Compagnie Daï Daï Produçao.

For the Museum Night at MEG, immerse yourself in tales and legends with a dance performance by Loubna within the temporary exhibition. Loubna takes you on a sensory journey inspired by gnawa music and amapiano, where each movement symbolizes the sharing and preservation of musical heritage.

Four performers, each grappling with their own emotional and financial turmoil, delve into the economic principles that shape our lives through the medium of music. Through invigorating songs, they question the nature and perception of public debt.
