“Summer special” – an Object, a Sound, a Story: Meeting the Salmon Boy

Family visit to discover an aspect of the MEG temporary exhibition.

As part of the “Partir en livres” program, whose theme this summer is “The animal and us”, let’s discover the story of the boy kidnapped by the salmon because he disrespected them. After observing the Salmon Chief Mask, let’s listen to the story of Shanyaak’utlaax in the library’s music room. The tour ends with a listening session to Alaskan native sounds.

Showcasing twelve rare pieces from the Ming and Qing dynasties, the collection includes intricately decorated boxes, dishes, and other precious items adorned with engravings or mother-of-pearl inlays. The event kicks off with a lecture by Helen Loveday, who delves into the splendor of these Chinese treasures.

19 April – 27 June

The “Chrysalides” exhibition at the Children’s and Adolescents’ Center (HUG), in partnership with the Convergences Foundation, showcases the work of Italian artist Ilaria Sagaria. It delves into adolescence as a metamorphosis, blending poetry and psychology. Using the symbolism of the chrysalis, the exhibition illustrates the profound personal transformations that occur during this life stage.

15 May – 29 July

Olivier Varenne presents a new group exhibition featuring works by major modern and contemporary artists, including John Armleder, Jean Dubuffet, Chiharu Shiota, and Dana Schutz. The show explores the intersections of materiality, gesture, and perception through a wide range of artistic approaches, creating a dynamic dialogue across generations and disciplines.

Editions Zoé, a Geneva-based publishing house, has launched nearly 400 authors, standing out in the French-speaking literary world.
