The MEG welcomes multi-instrumentalist Satch Hoyt for a live musical performance, Un-Muting, as part of the Afrosonica – Soundscapes exhibition. This immersive performance explores the role of music in African societies and their diasporas. Hoyt weaves together sounds from ancient African instruments, colonial-era recordings, and his own experimental soundscapes to craft a new, inclusive cultural identity for the Black community. A collaboration between La Bâtie and MEG, this event offers a sonic mapping of African diasporas, merging past and future, reality and imagination.
