After studying philosophy and political science, Sandrine Collette debuted with Des nœuds d’acier (2013), which won the Grand Prix de littérature policière. She became a leading figure in French thrillers with novels like Il reste la poussière and Les larmes noires sur la terre. Her work later shifted to post-apocalyptic themes, exploring human relationships with nature and animals. Et toujours les forêts (2020) won the Grand Prix RTL-Lire, and On était des loups (2022) is being adapted into a film.
Her latest novel, Madelaine avant l’aube, finalist for the 2024 Prix Goncourt, tells the story of a wild girl who disrupts a secluded village, with stunning prose and powerful themes of isolation.
