Photographing the World of Tomorrow

To mark its 35th anniversary, Reporters Without Borders Switzerland is hosting the exhibition “Photographing the World of Tomorrow” at Uni Dufour. The exhibition highlights the work of 40 photojournalists, focusing on themes such as the environment, exile, and crises. Introduced at the True Story Festival in Bern, this global tribute captures the transformation of the world through images that reveal suffering, resilience, and hope, underscoring the vital role of independent journalism.

The exhibition “Sauvages” at the Cité Library invites visitors to delve into the behind-the-scenes of Claude Barras’s film. Crossroads presents photographers Julien Spiewak and Dow Wasiksiri, who blend their artistic practices to reassess the connections between East and West, as well as past and present. Their work delves into the enduring influence of history as a living entity in our everyday lives. Through staging, insertion, and rephotography, they foster a dialogue between inherited imagery and the contemporary body, encouraging us to inhabit, claim, and transform our perception of the world.

17 April 2025 – 17 April 2026

The exhibition invites you on a journey through anatomical models, casts, waxworks, and illustrated antique books. Modern tools like microscopy, medical imaging, and 3D printing uncover the inner workings of organs, currently utilized by medical students at the University of Geneva. This is a collaboration with the University of Geneva. Some images may not be suitable for younger or sensitive audiences.

6 November 2025 – 15 April 2026

The exhibition delves into the realism, drama, and emotional intensity of 17th-century Dutch artists influenced by Caravaggio. The works of Gerrit van Honthorst and Judith Leyster exemplify the bold use of light and shadow to capture everyday life with theatrical intensity. Their contributions left a significant impact on the art of the era, paving the way for new expressions of the human condition.

Opening during the Art en Vieille-Ville collective vernissage on Thursday, November 6, from 16:00 to 21:00.

11 April 2025 – 4 January 2026

António Vasconcelos Lapa invites you into a fantastical realm where dreams blend with reality, a world brimming with lush vegetation, vibrant fruits, and peculiar creatures reminiscent of fairy tales. His works uniquely allow for touch, providing an immersive and unparalleled experience.
