Opening: (re)connecting.earth – Children’s Imaginations and Co-Creation

Join us to celebrate the launch of ten days of shared creations at Salle du Faubourg, centered around art and ecology. This initial phase of the Biennale (re)connecting.earth (03) – Resources focuses on children’s imaginations and intergenerational co-creation. Discover artworks from over 500 Geneva students, videos by international artists on natural resources, and innovative local initiatives such as textile recycling centers. This welcoming opening event provides the opportunity to meet artists, scientists, and families, and to collaboratively envision the world of tomorrow.

The GPHG exhibition showcases 90 timepieces shortlisted by the Academy, accompanied by creations from students of watch design and interior architecture at HEAD – Geneva. The Biopark is temporarily hosting Janus, a unique two-headed Greek tortoise, during the renovation of the Museum. Each head of this male tortoise has its own independent brain, which sometimes makes its movements challenging. In captivity, Janus receives attentive care, resulting in an impressive lifespan of 26 years.

La julienne hosts Le Petit Festival, a weekend designed for the little ones featuring shows, workshops, and activities.

A musical show at the Museum of the History of Science brings together Michel, Sophie, and Tom Tirabosco for a captivating exploration of the pan flute. Michel mimics birds, Sophie sings, and Tom sketches, creating a musical journey from Vivaldi to Mozart, with influences from Romanian and South American folk traditions.

Ages 5 and up.

24 September – 7 December

Discover the vital role of water preservation through the interactive exhibition “Léman, the Awakening of a People” and the workshop “Mission: Clean Water!” Uncover the story of how Lake Geneva was rescued from pollution four decades ago through collective action. This event narrates an inspiring tale of struggle, resilience, and hope, providing valuable insights for today’s environmental challenges.

16 September – 14 December

The ASL is marking its 45th anniversary with the immersive exhibition “Léman, l’éveil d’un peuple” (Léman, the Awakening of a People). This exhibition chronicles the fierce battle to rescue Lake Geneva from suffocation between the 1960s and 2000, driven by the collective efforts of associations, scientists, fishermen, journalists, and institutions. It offers a journey filled with documents and personal accounts, reminding visitors of the power of individual action in protecting the lake. The event features a variety of activities suitable for all ages, including fun missions for children, conferences, and guided tours. It also highlights the lake’s current challenges and encourages active engagement in its preservation.
