Olivier Norek, born in 1975 in Toulouse, is an author and screenwriter. A former police officer, he began writing after taking a leave of absence to focus on his debut novel Code 93 (2013), set in Seine-Saint-Denis. He won several awards, including the European Crime Fiction Prize and the Grand Prix des Lectrices Elle – Police Fiction.
His 2017 novel Entre deux mondes won the Étoile du Parisien for Best Crime Novel, and Surface (2019) received the Prix Maison de la Presse. His recent work, Les Guerriers de l’hiver (2024), set during the Russo-Finnish War, won the Prix Renaudot des Lycéens and was a finalist for the Prix Renaudot.
