Experience Moictani’s captivating concert at Théâtre de l’Orangerie as part of the 2025 season. The brainchild of Tania Praz, a Spanish-Swiss artist, Moictani delivers an enchanting, sunny rock sound. Originally a solo endeavor, the project has grown to feature a bassist, keyboardist, and drummer, resulting in a powerful and liberating sonic experience. Their debut album, “Cinq heures trente-deux,” skillfully blends Spanish and French. Prepare for an energetic and poetic musical journey.
During the Fête de la Musique, the courtyard of Geneva’s Palais de Justice becomes a vibrant open-air stage featuring a rich variety of performances. From baroque and classical pieces by Orchestre Praeclassica to eclectic vocal works by Anima Cantus, as well as contemporary brass by Quintette SansNom, the program spans genres and eras. On Sunday, audiences can enjoy the youthful strings of Les Cordes des Alpes, traditional yodeling with the Alphüttli Club, and the diverse sounds of the Ensemble de Trombones de Genève. With free entry and a cozy capacity of 200, this historic venue offers an intimate and memorable musical experience.
Settle into a deckchair by the lake and soak up the laid-back vibes of La Chaloupe à Vapeur, a beloved summer spot in Geneva’s international district. Every Sunday, enjoy live music spanning blues, chanson, reggae, and more—perfect for a lazy afternoon in the park. With tapas, stunning lake views, and a diverse crowd, it’s a true local gem. In March 1974, a slightly nervous Michel Berger played a song for France Gall—one he had written for himself but with her in mind. As he strummed a few chords, the lyrics left little room for doubt: Quand je suis seul et que je peux rêver / Je rêve que je suis dans tes bras / Je rêve que je te fais tout bas / Une déclaration, ma déclaration.
But the greatest love of the singer-songwriter was neither Véronique Sanson nor France Gall—his longtime partner in both life and music—but rather music itself, the only remedy for wounds that never quite healed. Behind his polished, almost reserved exterior lay a tormented man who drew boundless energy from his own fractures. A singular melodist and an underrated lyricist whose simplicity struck straight to the heart, Michel Berger didn’t just revive France Gall’s career—he also shaped those of icons like Françoise Hardy (Message personnel) and Johnny Hallyday (Le Chanteur abandonné, Quelque chose de Tennessee).

La Traviata by Giuseppe Verdi will be presented at the Grand Théâtre de Genève in a new production, directed by Karin Henkel, from 18 June 2025. The opera, based on Alexandre Dumas fils’s La Dame aux Camélias, tells the tragic story of Violetta Valéry, a courtesan who sacrifices her happiness for the man she loves. Henkel’s fresh interpretation will explore Violetta’s sacrifice through a modern female lens, enhanced by Aleksandar Denić’s sets and Teresa Vergho’s costumes. The production will feature a stellar cast, with Ruzan Mantashyan and Jeanine De Bique alternating as Violetta, and Enea Scala and Julien Behr as Alfredo. Paolo Carignani will conduct the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande.
