Throughout the summer, casual meetups with artists from the Psot Netebras Xul exhibition are held at Bar Liaisons. Enjoy informal 30-minute discussions over drinks, free of charge and open to everyone without needing to register. Participating artists include Timothée Calame, Viola Leddi, and Valentin Carron.

While the MAMCO undergoes renovations, the museum offers exhibitions outside its usual location. “Psot Netebras Xul” kicks off this initiative in an unconventional industrial space reminiscent of SIP venues. This exhibition explores the Geneva art scene from the 1990s to the present, featuring works from the MAMCO collection alongside recent creations. Participating artists include Timothée Calame, Valentin Carron, Emilie Ding, Sylvie Fleury, among others.

Exhibition: The Virginia and Edward Chow Donation

The Baur Foundation highlights the magnificent lacquers from the Virginia and Edward Chow donation with an exhibition at the museum. Showcasing twelve rare pieces from the Ming and Qing dynasties, the collection includes intricately decorated boxes, dishes, and other precious items adorned with engravings or mother-of-pearl inlays. The event kicks off with a lecture by Helen Loveday, who delves into the splendor of these Chinese treasures.

Les forces de l’abandon – Sylvie Wozniak

Supported by the Chêne Bleu association and the Mairie de Vandœuvres, Sylvie Wozniak’s exhibition Les forces de l’abandon takes over the former carpentry workshop of Maison Olivier. In this evocative space, the artist explores the raw intimacy between body, material, and memory. Monumental oil paintings on cotton, poetic text, and live performances intertwine in an immersive, sensory environment where wood becomes skin, silence deepens, and the act of surrender transforms into art.

Home is Where We Start From

“Home Is Where We Start From” is a contemporary art exhibition organized by ART for The World, in collaboration with Geneva’s Department of Culture and the Museum of Art and History. Featuring works by around 30 artists with diverse migratory backgrounds, the exhibition explores themes of migration, interculturality, and resilience. Notable artists include Marina Abramović, Mona Hatoum, and Shirin Neshat. The exhibition is curated by Adelina von Fürstenberg and includes a book of interviews on the concept of “home” in the context of migration. A special event on International Women’s Day (March 8, 2025) will feature workshops, performances, screenings, and a concert celebrating women artists.

Feldenkrais Visit: Jean Tinguely Exhibition

Experience the Jean Tinguely exhibition through a kinesthetic approach that heightens awareness of body and space, guided by a Feldenkrais practitioner and a cultural mediator.

To mark the 100th anniversary of Jean Tinguely’s birth, the MAH celebrates the artist’s deep ties to the museum with a vibrant tribute. A restored kinetic sculpture—Si c’est noir, je m’appelle Jean (1960)—takes center stage, joined by a major donation of graphic works from the Niki Charitable Art Foundation. Echoing the spirit of Tinguely’s last exhibition at the Musée Rath in 1983, the show features over thirty mechanical sculptures and rarely seen works on paper, many connected to Geneva’s cultural history.

The exhibition invites you on a journey through anatomical models, casts, waxworks, and illustrated antique books. Modern tools like microscopy, medical imaging, and 3D printing uncover the inner workings of organs, currently utilized by medical students at the University of Geneva. This is a collaboration with the University of Geneva. Some images may not be suitable for younger or sensitive audiences.

Unusual Dialogues: Animal Migration at the Museum

A photographic installation in Parc des Bastions celebrates the dramatic relocation of animals from the Natural History Museum in Bastions to Malagnou in 1965. Organized by the Museum and the Geneva Library, this exhibition provides a deep dive into the Museum’s former home, showcasing images of the transfer of various specimens.
