La Bâtie Festival: Luis Naón / Ariadna Alsina Tarrès / Eklekto

Eklekto returns to La Bâtie with two new creations, “Sobre la Tierra” and “Imprints.” “Sobre la Tierra,” composed by Luis Naón, features a multicultural ensemble of six percussionists playing instruments from across the six continents, enriched by substantial electronic elements. This forty-minute piece celebrates the diversity of percussion across different musical traditions. “Imprints,” composed by Ariadna Alsina Tarrés, delves into themes of memory and trace through the distinct sounds of a Persian zarb and amplified materials like bamboo and silk, performed by two percussionists. The performance incorporates students from the Haute École de musique alongside Eklekto musicians, highlighting a commitment to intergenerational exchange and sharing.
