L’Orgue en fête

Enjoy a free day of activities celebrating the Victoria Hall organ, including guided tours (with a chance to play), an organ-building workshop for children (ages 4+), a musical storytelling performance “The Journey of Plume the Little Polar Bear”, and an evening recital by the Scott Brothers Duo (organ and piano), featuring works by Rossini, Bach, Debussy, Fauré, and Liszt.

As part of the “Partir en livres” programme, whose theme for this summer is “Animals and us”, let’s discover the gifts given by all the animals of the Arctic on the occasion of Koulou’s birth. After looking at the Inuit objects in the permanent exhibition, let’s listen to Koulou’s poem in the music room of the library. The visit will end with listening to Inuit sounds.

Family visit to discover an aspect of the MEG temporary exhibition.

As part of the “Partir en livres” program, whose theme this summer is “The animal and us”, let’s discover the story of the boy kidnapped by the salmon because he disrespected them. After observing the Salmon Chief Mask, let’s listen to the story of Shanyaak’utlaax in the library’s music room. The tour ends with a listening session to Alaskan native sounds.

Wednesday 16 July, 15:00

As part of the “Partir en livres” program, a family visit will explore the rich collections of the MEG (Museum of Ethnography), focusing on the theme “Animals and us.” The Topino family and their travelling circus, guided by Bisha, the blue goat, will be introduced. The visit includes a look at the three-stringed fiddle in the permanent exhibition, followed by a discovery of Bisha’s story in the library’s music room. The experience concludes with a song by the band Aksak.
