For KorSonoR, Alexandre Joly and Daniel Zea have invited Olga Kokcharova, Sergei Leonov, and Jiwon Seo for a week-long artistic residency culminating in the creation of new works. These will be showcased in a concert on Saturday. Simultaneously, Joly and Zea will develop their pieces, which will also feature in the concert.
In the concert, Jiwon Seo offers an auditory exploration where breaths, waves, and resonances blend within a suspended space. As a Geneva-based composer and interdisciplinary artist, Jiwon integrates acoustic and digital music, performance, video, and visual theater, drawing inspiration from training in traditional Korean music and contemporary composition. An award-winning artist, Jiwon collaborates with renowned ensembles and presents works at international festivals. They delve into new media, 3D technology, and artificial intelligence to enhance their music.
