Founded in 2018 by Vuma Levin and Théo Duboule, In Motion delves into a distinctive stylistic blend, drawing inspiration from Nguni-Sotho rhythms, 16th-century madrigals, pop-rock, and improvisational music. The ensemble, featuring guitarists, a trumpeter, a drummer, a bassist, and a percussionist, offers a vibrant and imaginative repertoire that truly embodies its name.
The Hardgroovers, a multigenerational quintet, pays tribute to Roy Hargrove with original arrangements and compositions inspired by the renowned trumpeter. Comprising regulars from AMR, this group delivers energetic, emotive, and jubilant music, infused with afro-jazz grooves and romantic ballads.
