Haydn-Mozart Festival: The King of Bassoon

Gli Angeli Genève, under the direction of Stephan MacLeod, will perform a selection of pieces by Haydn, Mysliveček, and Mozart. The program features the Overture from Armide, Symphony No. 35, Octet No. 3, along with Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto KV 191 and his Horn Concerto No. 2 KV 417. The concert will be introduced by Philippe Albèra, with Philippe Miqueu featured on bassoon.

Habib Meftah and Rouzbeh Esfand introduce their musical project Shibaali at the Alhambra, blending electronic dance music with the sounds from southern Iran. Renowned percussionist Habib draws inspiration from Bushehr’s rich cultural diversity, while Rouzbeh infuses his expertise in both Western and Iranian music. The concert will be kicked off with a DJ set by Ralph.

This ensemble piece, part of the trilogy “In Praise of Vulnerability,” offers a playful and queer interpretation of the character of Satan, reimagining him as a feminist liberator challenging divine tyranny. Blending humor and sacrilege, the performance aligns Satan with the traits of a bimbo, symbolizing a bold and provocative reclaiming of the body.

They share instruments and repertoires as a common heritage of humanity, embodying the essence of MiASiN!.
