This special event, held ahead of the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, features a screening of short films from WHO’s Health for All Film Festival and excerpts from feature films selected by FIFDH, all highlighting women’s experiences of violence and the role of communities in driving change. A moderated discussion will follow with experts from HRP, WHO, the featured filmmakers, and representatives from the Geneva Graduate Institute’s Gender Centre, drawing on new WHO evidence on the global prevalence and health impacts of violence against women. Filmmakers will be present for audience engagement, and the event includes sensitive content depicting various forms of violence; support resources are available to students. Organized by the Gender Centre in collaboration with HRP, WHO, FIFDH, and the Global Health Centre, the event examines the scale of gender-based violence and the actions needed to prevent it.
