Explore Demain Festival – Michel Gondry’s Amateur Film Factory

Michel Gondry’s Amateur Film Factory joins the Explore Demain festival to offer a unique hands-on experience in creating short films. In groups, participants craft a short film from scriptwriting to makeshift special effects, all within the festival’s backdrop, in just three hours. Designed to spark fun and creativity, these workshops require no prior training.  The sessions promise an engaging and inclusive atmosphere, with three public workshops and two dedicated to secondary schools.

The FMAC is hosting Godzillab for a two-week creative workshop series tailored for kids.  Led by Estelle Germain, Fred Fivaz, and Kleio Obergfell-Thomaïdes, children will have the opportunity to design and craft giant monster posters for the FMAC’s exterior or create 3D dioramas inspired by extraordinary tales.

Oscar Gómez Mata, known for his bold creations in Europe and Latin America, debuts his first work entirely for young audiences at Am Stram Gram. Titled “Tracas et Sans Gravité” this performance offers a “not-so-solo” act where he embodies a metaphysical clown. Combining extravagance, poetry, and reflections on major contemporary issues, Gómez Mata explores how our worries can transform into a powerful force for change.

Sunday 11 May, 14:00

Join Anaïs Krebs, a passionate author-illustrator, for a captivating journey into nature through her book “Tsip tsap.” Children will explore a lush botanical world and then create their own enchanting universe with colored pencils and watercolors. This workshop, blending nature and imagination, concludes with a snack and a book signing session with the author. Anaïs Krebs, a graphic design graduate involved in various artistic projects, looks forward to sharing this creative and magical experience with participants.

In French.  Ages 6 and up.

11 May & 1 June

The MEG’s Sunday Cinema offers a free film series focusing on music and current societal themes. Each month, documentaries, fictional films, and animations are screened in the Museum’s Auditorium on a first-come, first-served basis, with no prior registration needed.

The MEG is hosting Kathy Jetñil-Kijiner for a screening of three short films followed by a discussion with the artist-activist and Ambassador Doreen de Brum. Hailing from the Marshall Islands, Kathy is renowned for her United Nations presentations and performances addressing climate issues and the impact of nuclear testing in the region. In collaboration with the Caux Foundation Initiatives and Change, the event features films “Beached,” “Anointed,” and “Rise,” with a discussion moderated by Roberta Colombo Dougoud.

Frout-frout and Pataclac! is a children’s show by Spoke Agency where household sounds turn into songs and nursery rhymes to tell stories. This everyday adventure combines music, movement, and tales, enchanting both young audiences and adults.
