CineGlobe returns to CERN with a bold, immersive festival that blends cinema, science, and technology in unexpected ways. Hosted at the Science Gateway and the Globe of Science and Innovation, this edition—Interwoven—takes inspiration from quantum entanglement and film editing to explore the deep connections between storytelling and reality. Featuring a unique VR zone, an international short film competition, and a special collaboration with the European Night of Museums, the festival celebrates the imagination of researchers, engineers, artists, and creators who push the boundaries of knowledge and culture.

This fourth edition offers a rich program of milongas, live concerts, dance demonstrations, and workshops led by renowned international artists. Attendees can enjoy performances by the ensemble Tangorra and participate in tango and milonga classes suitable for various skill levels. The Spring Program of the University of Geneva’s Film Club, titled “Visions of the Future,” is dedicated to science fiction films. Through narratives blending fantasy and introspection, this cycle examines the connections between humanity and the universe, memory and the present moment, as well as artificial intelligence and human consciousness. The featured works emphasize space, silence, and infinity, encouraging viewers to embark on a profound meditation and a journey beyond reality. Weekly screenings are held at Les Cinémas du Grütli, with a special screening at Uni Mail as part of the Carac Festival.

A delightful program of six animated short films that celebrate imagination, nature, and resilience. From the touching tale of a girl confronting her fear of rain in “Parapluies” to the whimsical adventures of a flying hen in “À Tire d’Aile,” each story offers a unique perspective. The selection also includes the acrobatic giraffes of “5 Mètres 80,” the serene dawn in “Aubade,” and the collaborative spirit of marine life in “L’Étang.”

Screening of the film “Draw for Change: Democracy Under Siege” by Laura Nix, followed by a discussion with cartoonists Ann Telnaes and Patrick Chappatte. The documentary shines a light on the flaws of the American political system, featuring insights from experts, members of Congress, and artists, with a particular focus on Ann Telnaes’ journey. Co-presented with Freedom Cartoonists, Le Temps, and FIFDH, this event offers a powerful reflection on the state of democracy in the United States.

The Dance Festival 2025 offers an extensive lineup of performances, dance parties, and workshops across Geneva. Following the official opening at Bains des Pâquis, the celebration continues at key spots like Halles de l’Île and Place des Volontaires. Participants will then join the Dance Village at Jonction and other nearby communes including Meyrin, Lancy, Carouge, Onex, and Vernier. Highlights include a Dance Market in Carouge, Tattes & Dances in Vernier, a rock’n’roll evening, and urban dance celebrations. A variety of beginner classes and indoor and outdoor performances invite everyone to dance and explore new styles.

The Forum Meyrin is hosting American artist Rachel Marks for a residency where her studio becomes a dynamic exhibition and interactive space. Together with the audience, she breathes new life into abandoned books and papers. Central to her work is the tree, a symbol that delves into the relationship between humans and their environment.
