Christmas Market of Creators and Artists

The Artists and Local Artisans’ Christmas Market takes place in the historic Kugler Foundry, now turned into a vibrant Geneva arts center. Over 30 creators exhibit one-of-a-kind and authentic works, ranging from art pieces to jewelry and ceramics. Visitors can engage with artists and learn about their creative processes in a friendly atmosphere, with refreshments and snacks available.

Take a stroll down the market aisles to discover over 150 exhibiting craftspeople, in Rue St-Joseph, Place du Temple, along Place du Marché and in front of the Town Hall. The craftspeople, shopkeepers and restaurateurs are waiting with great enthusiasm to share this magical moment with you.

Saturday 13 December, 15:00

The third edition of the Creators’ Market at the Comédie de Genève highlights over 30 local artisans and artists. Explore and purchase ceramics, jewelry, clothing, cosmetics, and various other creations. The event also features live music, refreshments, Congolese cuisine, a vintage thrift shop, and a roller disco in the main hall, promising a festive atmosphere filled with exciting discoveries.

Saturday 13 December, 16:00

Embark on a quest to discover the legendary hidden treasure from the 1602 Escalade, guided by a mysterious manuscript revealing a secret entrance. Explore Geneva’s Old Town by solving historical puzzles and work alongside key characters to uncover this legendary trove. Conclude your adventure by celebrating with the breaking of the famous Marmite de l’Escalade. This puzzle game is self-guided, with an animator to assist you at the starting point.

13 & 14 December

Immerse yourself in the spirit of historic Geneva with a weekend event commemorating the Battle of L’Escalade, orchestrated by the Compagnie de 1602. Relive the 17th-century daily life with over 2,000 participants donned in period costumes. Experience parades featuring fifes, drums, musketeers, and horsemen through the streets of the old town, beautifully lit by torchbearers at night. Enjoy food stalls, mulled wine, and local products. Note that some activities are dependent on weather conditions.

Friday, December 12
Official opening with the tribute procession to the victims starting at 18:25, musket salutes from the Cathedral, wreath-laying at key symbolic sites, and a commemorative route through the Old Town.

Saturday, December 13
A full day of historical festivities with weapons demonstrations, musket fire, military camps, blacksmithing, cavalry displays, guided tours, performances at Maison Tavel, children’s activities, concerts, and fanfares. In the evening, the lantern parade, open to all, departs at 19:45 towards Cour Saint-Pierre.

Sunday, December 14
The main highlight is the Grand Historic Procession from 17:00 to 19:30. Throughout the day, visitors can enjoy military demonstrations, concerts, heritage tours, family activities, and official ceremonies across Bourg-de-Four, the Cathedral, and Cour Saint-Pierre.
