Performances feature pieces like “Fantasiestücke,” “Frauenliebe und Leben,” and string quartets, brought to life by talented musicians under the artistic direction of Raphaël Merlin.

As part of the Geneva International Film Festival (GIFF), Ensemble Contrechamps presents Locus Solus—a pioneering experience where virtual reality meets live instrumental performance. Featuring new works by Raccuia & Carrel, Kobayashi, and Décosterd & Parel, this immersive program transforms the Temple de Plainpalais into a hybrid sonic and visual space. In intimate groups, audiences enter an augmented listening environment where acoustic textures, VR synthesizers, and real-time performance converge in a poetic and boundary-pushing exploration.

9 & 14 November

Jean-Luc Hervé presents “Sombre / Topos – Musical Salon with a Population of Sound Animals” in collaboration with Utopiana and the University of Geneva. This innovative project features sound broadcasts, performances, and a seminar. Hervé explores the interplay between music and the environment by positioning sound sources throughout a house, crafting a natural polyphony that mimics animal populations. The performances, woven into this soundscape, gradually evolve and separate, forming an independent “sound population” that remains even after the performers have exited.

6 – 9 November

Join the Semi-Final of the Concours de Genève – Viola Competition, featuring a solo recital and chamber music performance at the Geneva Conservatoire. Under the leadership of Tabea Zimmermann, the semi-finalists present a free-choice program along with works by Mozart and Berio, accompanied by guest artists.

Established in 1939, the Concours de Genève aims to discover and support young talents for an international career. The final will be held at Victoria Hall with the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, followed by the prize ceremony.
