With the rise of decolonial movements and increasing social demands, artistic creation is called to reinvent itself. Experts Michèle Freiburghaus, Mathias Pfund, and Hélène Gerster will engage in a debate about monuments: should they be reimagined, dismantled, or replaced with new ones? Joseph Favre will moderate the discussion, organized by the Interdisciplinary Research Workshop.

To celebrate the 56th anniversary of the first moon landing, CERN is hosting the STELLAR science festival. This event offers the chance to meet astronauts, Nobel laureates, and renowned scientists, delving into how astrophysics and particle physics impact fields such as healthcare, climate modeling, and natural disaster management. The festival includes live music and hands-on activities suitable for all ages. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from several Nobel Prize winners and astronauts, with some participating remotely. Organized by IUPAP, the Swiss Physical Society, the University of Geneva, and CERN, STELLAR is part of the 2025 International Cosmic Ray Conference. Admission is free, though advanced registration is recommended to attend the talks.

Sensory Reconfiguration: Machines to Undo the ‘Normal’

A two-day workshop led by artist Marco Donnarumma at the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum.

Designed for Deaf and hard-of-hearing participants using French Sign Language, the workshop explores alternative modes of perception through the collaborative creation of experimental prosthetics and sensory technologies. By blending art, engineering, and lived experience, the event invites participants to rethink what it means to listen, feel, and sense—beyond the boundaries of so-called “normal” bodies.
