What if bagpipes, binious, and bombardes were the perfect instruments to perform Philip Glass’s music? This bold and fascinating show takes that daring leap.

With 8 SONNEURS for Philip Glass, the iconic repertoire of the pioneering American minimalist composer gains a fresh dimension: four emblematic pieces from 1969 (Two Pages, Music in Fifths, Music in Contrary Motion, Music in Similar Motion) are reimagined by traditional Breton musicians.

The result? A striking sonic alchemy where rich timbres, the continuous drone of the bagpipes, and spatial sound transform the listening experience. Glass’s music becomes living, vibrant, almost hypnotic — proving that his spirit resonates just as powerfully through the drone of traditional instruments as through synthesizers.
