Vudú

Vudú is a piece that tells the story of a pact with the devil.

Asteroid 3318 Blixen was discovered on April 23, 1985, at the Brorfelde Observatory in Denmark. It was named in honor of Baroness Karen Blixen, better known by her pen name Isak Dinesen. Karen Blixen is said to have promised her soul to the devil, and in return, the devil promised that everything she lived and experienced from that moment on would become a story.

In this creation—the first part of a Funeral Trilogy—artist, performer, actress, and writer Angélica Liddell explores the power of vengeance and ritual. Through an epic, river-like performance that blends a retrospective look at her past work with a reflection on what drives her act of creation, she charts a fatal path toward her own funeral.

In Spanish with French subtitles.
